Strawberry Bread (author's favorite)

Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1 cup strawberry preserves
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup margarine, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Grease and flour 2 loaf pans. Sift together flour, soda and tartar. Mix sour cream and preserves. Cream margarine and sugar, add eggs and vanilla. Mix preserves mixture alternately with the flour. Bake 1 hour in preheated 325 degree oven. May add food coloring.
